Meet the Team Behind Our Restaurants in Broadbeach & Surfers Paradise

Your hosts, Michael, Nopporn and Christina Theravanish, warmly welcome you to Chiangmai Thai. Our passion is creating an enjoyable and authentic dining experience to delight all our customers, from visitors to the Gold Coast to our local regulars.

Our History

Michael and Nopporn started their restaurant adventures in 1993 when they opened the first Chiangmai Thai restaurant at Nobby Beach. As the restaurant got busier with each passing year, they decided to relocate to their current location at Broadbeach, opposite Cascade Gardens. Not long after opening in Broadbeach, they opened their second restaurant in Surfers Paradise, located within the Mantra Crown Towers Resort.

Our Unique Restaurants

Being from Chiangmai, Michael & Nopporn wanted to create an authentic Thai experience on the Gold Coast. They, along with Christina and the dedicated team, continually put in a lot of effort to ensure that the overall dining experience will transport customers back to Thailand! Everything from the gold-accented wooden artifacts, the elephant chairs and the wooden carvings were all brought in from Thailand.

Both of our restaurants boast indoor & outdoor dining areas so that you can enjoy the fine Gold Coast weather as well as your dinner. We hope that you will all enjoy the charming atmosphere at Chiangmai and have a pleasant dining experience.
